Mandy Belanger

Director

We are thrilled to welcome Mandy and her beautiful dogs the Board! Their passion and dedication will undoubtedly bring a fresh perspective to our team. We look forward to working together and achieving great things!

When Mandy isn’t focused on the education of the amazing students in the AOS 90 school districts, you can find her enjoying the great outdoors of Maine. She grew up in the woods of northern Maine in a family of outdoor enthusiasts, where sitting on the couch watching TV was never part of daily life.

Mandy has lived in Washington County for 23 years, 15 of those spent within walking distance of Meddybemps Lake and the surrounding land she proudly calls home. Contrary to popular opinion, her favorite season is winter — her favorite day of the year is the first snowfall. Growing up in rural northern Maine teaches you to appreciate all four seasons.

Cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, hiking, biking, and riding snowmobiles and all-terrain vehicles on Maine’s scenic trails are among her favorite activities. Mandy has also spent time with several outdoor-focused organizations, including the Outdoor Club at UMF, AmeriCorps NCCC, and the Downeast Lakes Land Trust, contributing to trail upkeep, construction projects, and the development of educational programs.

Through her work with the residents of Washington County, Mandy encourages both students and community members to get outside, explore, and develop their own appreciation for the natural beauty around them. She hopes to inspire people of all ages to experience and enjoy everything Maine — especially the MLLT — has to offer.
