Durell Buzzini

Director

Durell’s ancestor Joseph Tarbell first settled in Meddybemps in 1829 and ran the local grist mill for many years.  A stone from that mill is proudly displayed on the grounds of the Meddybemps Community Center.  Joseph’s granddaughter Mary and her husband John Thomas of Calais built the little red cottage on Pine Point (just east of the community center) in the late 1800’s. Durell’s grandfather Walter Thomas married Beatrice Bridges of Meddybemps deepening the Meddybemps legacy and Durell’s grandson is now the sixth generation to cherish this piece of heaven here on earth.

Durell is a member and Past President of the Meddybemps Lake Association and currently is the coordinator for the Courtesy Boat Inspection Program at the public boat landing. Conservation and Sustainability are foundations of Durell’s values, and she welcomes the opportunity now to help preserve, promote and manage the MLLT property.
