Princeton Students chart the growth and health of our American Chestnut Trees!
On October 15th, Princeton School Students in 6th, 7th and 8th grades came to MLLT's 1st grove to take health and growth measurements of our American Chestnut Trees. The trees have now been in the ground since May 2025 and we are excited to see how they have grown. The students in Adena Burger's science class are now working with the data and plan to create graphs ~ Stay tuned to follow what these amazing students learn!

The students are well-acquainted with the advantages of outdoor classroom learning. Ms. Burger established and manages Bombers Garden - Grow Zone! at Princeton Elementary School. The program is part of the Maine School Garden Network. Students actively participate by conducting science lessons in the garden, where they harvest vegetables, learn to cook them during science class, and supply their cafeteria with healthy snacks from their harvest! The program is working to obtain a Greenhouse to provide the community with heirloom variety seedlings.

Support this worthwhile program at https://msgn.org/garden-directory/bombers-garden-grow-zone/ They can always use donations of soil and mulch!
